“MOSGAZ”, a State Unitary Enterprise of Moscow city, was established in accordance with Decree of the Energy and Energy Supply Department No.89 as of September 24, 1992 as a result of reorganization (transformation) of the previously existing Moscow Municipal Production Association “MOSGAZ”. The founder of the enterprise is Moscow city represented by the Property Department of Moscow city. The enterprise reports to the Fuel and Energy Department of Moscow city. Official abbreviated name of the enterprise is SUE “MOSGAZ”.
Currently, SUE “MOSGAZ” operates over 7500 km of gas supply networks. Out of 27 bln cubic meters of the natural gas consumed in Moscow (which for 7% exceeds the total volume of its consumption in Russian Federation), 74% accounts for 16 Steam Power Plant “MOSENERGO”, 11% accounts for 42 District Heating Plants and 30 block heating stations of the OJSC “MOEK”, 13% accounts for 900 large-sized and medium-sized industrial enterprises, 2% — for 2 mln of apartments. 24 326 residential buildings are supplied with gas where the number of gas stoves amounts to 1 860 936, gas tankless water heaters (for hot water) — 128 907 and gas storage water heaters — 5 181.
The SUE “MOSGAZ” laboratory for structural materials physical and mechanical properties research focuses on conducting research of structural materials of pipelines and other appliances and devices of the gas-distribution network in order to determine exact physical and mechanical properties of those materials, as well as defect identification, integrity damages and other faults of such materials for prevention of emergency situations.
